slowslug wrote:sounds exactly like racing in the rookie class to me. there was a young kid racing in the rookie class saturday that never took his finger off the gas and if he didnt make a corner he just climbed the pipes and kept going. i am disapointed noone said a word to him or his father. my car was broke and just sitting against the pipe wait for the race to end and the kid just smashed right into it and climbed the pipe and kept going. i will never race rookie again now the stock guys will have to put up me slowing them down. i think reckless driving should not be tollerated and u should be asked to leave, no let me rephrase that u should have your ass kicked all the way out the door.

Or we could all start helping the new guys out a little more by pointing out the rules and helping them learn the correct way to practice and race. Teach them how to lineup for their race and use transponders. Help them learn how to marshal the following race. Show them how to setup their car.

Some of you guys have stated this all started after we stopped charging the $5 practice fee. If you remember, several people said I would get more business if we didn't charge for practice. They were right but it causes more people to come out and practice. You can't have both, no practice fee and nobody on the track! You get both when you ask for one.
We did what the racers wanted us to do about the rules being posted. Now I need to hire a track monitor, start charging a fee to practice and go up on our prices to offest the lack of drivers coming to the shop to practice and spend a few $$$ at the store and deli.
When the new outside track opens we will have even more problems with the number of people being at the shop. You might have to stand in line a little longer to checkout your purchases and pay your tabs. We could have a self checkout line like Home Depot has!
Anyone want the job of enforcer? Anyone want to work for parts or free practice time?

BTW, I still had to go out on the track to lineup the veteran drivers on the start grid last weekend. WHY?
Getting down off of my soap box and going to bed now,
